Proper Clamping Capabilities

The Bosch Drive By Wire Throttle bodies were not designed with turbocharging in mind. Designed for naturally aspirated motors, a simple slip over and light clamp was all that was needed. Therefore, there is very little surface area and length on the the front side of the throttle body for tubing to connect.

This does not bode well for turbocharger or supercharger applications where boost comes into play. With the very small clamping area, it is very difficult to keep couplers from popping off, or even getting a decent clamp around it.

This is where the PHR Bosch 74mm Throttle Body Adapter to 3.0" Tubing comes into play. This adapter bolts to the front of the throttle body and is sealed to it using two o-rings. The clamping area is longer with a machined bead to create and extremely strong connection to the intercooler piping with  the use of a silicone coupler.

Construction

CNC Machined from billet 6061 aluminum. Anodized black for corrosion protection as well as asthetics.

Beauty in form

The PHR Design prioritizes the inner airflow, meeting with the throttle body at just the right size. The exterior bosses for the bolts are radiused and extended to blend into the adapter for maximum strength and gorgeous profile.
